As a best freelance digital marketer in Kerala, building my own website In finprove learning. using WordPress has been an important part of my journey into digital marketing. While learning digital marketing, I wanted to get practical experience instead of only learning theory. I wanted to understand how a real website is created, managed, and improved. So, I decided to build my own website and use it to practice the skills I learned during my digital marketing course.

Why I Chose WordPress

I chose WordPress because it is simple, flexible, and easy to use. It is also one of the most popular platforms for creating websites and blogs. WordPress gave me a good opportunity to learn about websites while also working on my digital marketing skills.

My main goal was to create a simple and professional website where visitors can learn more about me, my skills, services, projects, and my journey as a digital marketer. I also wanted to create an online presence where I could show my work and share my knowledge through blogs.

Designing My Website

During the website development process, I used WordPress and Elementor to design and customize my website. Elementor helped me create different sections and make changes to the website easily.

I created important pages such as Home, About Me, Services, Blog, and Contact. I tried to keep the design simple, clean, and easy to understand. I also focused on making the navigation simple so visitors can easily find the information they need.

I learned that website design is not only about making a website look good. It should also be easy to use. I also worked on making my website suitable for mobile phones, tablets, and computers. This helped me understand the importance of responsive design.

Applying SEO

SEO was an important part of building my website. I wanted people to find my website through Google when they search for digital marketing-related services. As someone working towards becoming the best freelance digital marketer in Kerala, I also wanted to understand how SEO can help improve my own online visibility.

While working on my website, I practiced different SEO techniques such as focus keywords, SEO titles, meta descriptions, headings, permalinks, image alt text, and internal links.

I also used Rank Math to check my pages and understand what I needed to improve. In the beginning, I thought SEO was mainly about adding keywords. But while working on my website, I understood that SEO is more than just keywords. The content should be useful, relevant, natural, and easy to read.

Improving Website Performance

I also learned about website speed and performance. I used tools such as GTmetrix to check my website performance and understand how different elements affect loading speed.

I learned that large images, unnecessary elements, and poor website structure can make a website slower. Optimizing images and keeping the website simple can help improve loading speed.

This experience helped me understand that website performance is also an important part of digital marketing. A fast and user-friendly website can give visitors a better experience.

What I Learned

Building my own website helped me gain practical knowledge in different areas. I learned about WordPress, Elementor, SEO, content creation, image optimization, internal linking, website speed, and website design.

I also learned how to find problems and try different ways to solve them. Sometimes, I faced difficulties while creating and optimizing my website. However, solving these problems helped me learn more and improve my skills.

Most importantly, this project gave me more confidence to use my digital marketing knowledge in a practical way.

My Next Step

My website is still an ongoing project. I will continue improving it, publishing useful blogs, trying different SEO strategies, and working on its performance.

I also want to use my website to show my skills, projects, services, and experience as I continue my career in digital marketing. My goal is to keep improving my knowledge and provide useful digital marketing solutions to businesses.

For me, this website is more than just an online portfolio. It represents my learning, creativity, practical experience, and journey into digital marketing.

Building my own website taught me that digital marketing becomes easier to understand when we practice what we learn. This experience has motivated me to keep learning, experimenting, and improving my skills in the future.
